A Walk Down my 1st Week Of Hols

Walk Down the Past 5 Days (29 March - 2 April 2005)

I had a mad week. Gah. 6 of us friends from uni, 5 of us from the same course plus a friend’s roommate, made a trip up north, landing our feet on 2 states & 4 places to be exact. I was the only Christian. The amazing thing, we did all of that in a matter of FIVE days!! Time was an extremely precious jewel. The end result of the trip was a bunch of darker skin color girls, more weight gained, loads of fond memories & definitely not forgetting, dried-up pockets!!

Day 1
Four of us course-mates, Chen, Yeoh, Kiew & I left the Pudu bus station on the 8 a.m. bus heading to Taiping. The journey, no different from the entire trip, had ONE focus; eat. We started the journey with home-made breakfast (made by Kiew) of sandwiches. *yums* Then nearing the end of the journey, we had home-cooked macaroni (by yours truly). *delicious* Basically, all we did during the entire trip was eat, sleep & play! Nyahaha…

The journey took about 4 hours. Joey picked us up from the Kamunting bus station & we went straight to the supermarket to shop for the BBQ items for dinner. (We learnt that Taiping consists of 3 main places: Simpang, Kamunting, & Taiping) It was pretty fun to become a ‘si-lai’ again…kekeke…the BBQ costs us about RM 80.00.

After ‘shopping’, we went back to the bus station to pick up Kiew’s roommate, Theng. We then went back to Joey’s house to drop our luggage, take our lunch of home-cooked mee suah, prepare & marinated the items for the BBQ, & then went out again to the Taiping lake garden to begin our fun.

We spent the entire time at the lake garden boat paddling. Ah, it wasn’t too bad lar huh. Chen & I didn’t want to do that at first as it costs RM 5, but we ended up paddling along with the rest. We had a good number of travel companions to carry out all the activities; even numbers. We had such fun that even the rain couldn’t dampen our spirits.

Chen & I…even the dark clouds couldn’t kill our joy

When the rain really poured, we had to head back to ‘shore’ & return the boats. Thankfully, time was almost up, so we didn’t really get cheated. We got kinda drenched actually, as the boat was only half covered. But all in all, we had a lot of fun. *smiles*

We went back to clean up & waited for the rain to stop before we could actually set up the pit for the BBQ. Kinda like a wrong day to have a BBQ. Nyah. We started the fire when the rain finally stopped…thank God. The BBQ was held outside the house.

The garlic bread was a hit (I taught them to make garlic butter for the bread. I was actually quite surprised that they didn’t know we could do such a thing ourselves.). We had chicken wings, chicken meat balls, sotong balls, prawn balls, sausages, cocktail sausages, marinated dory fish, garlic bread, potato salad & some fried rice. For 6 girls plus her family, we had an abundance of food!

We tried sleeping early. Well, I didn’t sleep early, that’s for sure. I stayed up slightly later to wait for my hair to dry & managed to catch a really ‘romantic’ movie on Astro while waiting: ‘A Walk in the Clouds’. Really nice movie…ahhh…I sneaked into the room quietly after that, hoping not to wake any of them…it was difficult trying to weave my way through the room with 2 girls on the floor & to slide my way in between 2 others on the bed. No guesses; they made me sleep in the middle again. (Flashbacks of the crazy times I had with Fern & Mabes).

*argh...im bored of writing edi...will cont to do so another time*
