Turtle Watching

Went turtle watching yesterday night. I was totally excited! We left after completing our project, which was around 9.30 p.m. already. The journey to Chendor beach, off Cherating, took about an hour, using the really dark, new highway.

The stars in the sky were BEAU-ti-ful! I enjoyed the journey to our destination although half way there, Kin Hup called & we chat 'til I reach the Turtle Sanctuary. Heeheehee...the chat was all too fun to bother 'bout anyhing else..haha.

When we got to that place, they were already releasing the baby turtles into the sea. The turtles were SO cute! Tiny little creatures trying to crawl towards and sea and try their luck in the wide, open sea.

After that, the officers there showed us the freshly laid turtle eggs and allowed us to hold it too! Precious...the shell was a little translucent and it really resembles a ping pong ball, except that it has life in it *smiles*

We were taken for a walk along the beach to see the turtle tracks and to just enjoy the beautiful night under the stars and the bright moonlight. Ah..it was a glorious kind of experience. Not to forget, we had a glimpse of Club Med Cherating from the beach and wow, that place is like a palace! SO pretty!

We sat on the beach & chit chat with the officers there, while we enjoy the sea breeze, which was TOTALLY cold. I cant believe how talkative a guy can get...that malay guy who talked to me just wouldn't stop talking! I was SO tired, I really wanted to sleep edi cos I had a really long day of classes from 8a.m.-6p.m., and after that I went back to complete a project before going out to the beach. *sigh*

After waiting for 'bout 2 hours, we went out for 'supper'... that happened around 1.30a.m..ahaha... came back, lied down on the beach and dozed off....we took turns of course. SAdly, after all the waiting, we didn't even get to see ONE turtle. *sigh* We left the place at 5.30a.m., stopped by Mei Fen's aunt's house, and headed back to uni. We had class at 8 am! Gosh..what a rush...but such experiences are priceless!
