Stretched...losing my elasticity

How far can I go?? I feel that I am losing my elasticity very quickly!

Just yesterday night, I got to know that I will REALLY have NO break AT ALL during the month of December. My debate finishes on the 4th of December...& I think i will just leave the university like that after the 6 rounds cos I seriously need a break. On the 5th-10th, there'll be YLDP. Then yesterday, I was informed (nearing 12 am today) that all the MPP members will have to go for a visit to the Ministry of Higher Education in Putrajaya, the Proton company in dunno where (Shah Alam, I think), and some other government offices la. All these will take place on the 11th & 12th of December!!!

After that, I have to get back to Kuantan on the 13th for a MPP meeting, and will have to leave for Cherating Bayview Resort on the 14th for a Leadership Training Course that will last for 4 days. *pants* I'll have a day of rest to unpack & pack again for yet another training session from the 19th-23rd December. ARGH!!! %$^@#*

ALL THIS IS SO TIRING!!! Will I be able to handle it? Huhu...with the Lord as my help, I pray that I will be able to carry out the required tasks. One by one, Miss Wong....

A Summary of Events in the month of November/ December

26-28 Nov Debate Training at UIA (leaving KUKTEM at 8am on the 26th)
29-4 Dec Royals Debate at UKM (competition starts only on the 30th)
5-10 Dec YLDP at Port Dickson
11-12 Dec Visitation to governmental bodies in Selangor
13 Dec MPP meeting
14-17 Dec Leadership Training Course at Cherating Bayview Resort
18 Dec Day off to unpack & pack again
19-23 Dec Leadership Training Course for MPP and Clubs' MT
24-28 Dec Finish up the Christmas gifts & hibernate at home
29 Dec Back to uni

And I was thinking of travelling to JB to meet up with Mabes and Fern over the New Year weekend....argh. *drowns* I MISS YOU BOTH LOADS!

Oh, today is also another stretch-ful day. I've a debate training, an MPP meeting with the Rector, and an official dinner out of uni with the MPP. ARGHeth.

FINALly over!

Hurrah!!!! My exams are FINALLY over yesterday! I can't believe it :) The entire period was a suffocating one. There was SO much to read up, yet so little time to do so.

I feel SO free now. There's not much to do but I still have to stay back in uni for meeetings and the debate training. Sigh. SO xian. Most of my friends have gone home; Joey just left for home, while the other 3 left yesterday after the exam. Gah. The entire room is quiet and still. Ah...perhaps this is the best time to learn to be still before the Lord again. But anyways, I ain't in the room now..am at the library ;) My laptop is still with uncle Francis.

Oh oh...yesterday was the best day of the week, I have to say. Firstly, my exam is over. then, I felt this certain peace within me after my final paper... there wasn't much time left to complete the 40 marks part, but I rushed like mad, praying that the Lord will have mercy upon me and grant me the speed and time to complete it. If I don't get all of it correct, which I think so, I hope to at least get half the marks from that section of the paper. Thanks Mabel darling for praying. The verse that you smsed me was indeed real to me :) Love you lots!

In addition to the joy-list, the data in my laptop is saved! AHHHHhhh! Finally, salvation has come upon my Lazarus! Lazarus resurrected 'again' after uncle Francis meddled with it. Ah! I can't believe my ears when he called me to ask for my password to access the Windows! THANK YOU SO MUCH, UNCLE FRANCIS!!! Gosh, I owe that family just too much!

I went over to his house to pass him my laptop for repair (he knows his company's supplier that may be able to help), to take a bath (no water in my uni AGAIN), and to get some bottles of water for my bath today. Sigh sigh... how can I thank them enough?? That family is like MY family...the hoke is as if my home in Kuantan! BLESSED!

So there I was with SO many blessings. To end the day with yet another blessing, KHup called and we had a mad time laughing and talking about his holiday in Sabah. He's still there anyways...gosh, the call will cost a bomb!

Although the room was way quiet yesterday night, boy, was I too glad to just doze off in peace and joy :) High...I just felt superbly glad yesterday... As for today, I have no idea what I'm gonna do. I'll have to attend a meeting later. After that, I'm free again. Then, I'll meet up with Kelvin, who is leaving the uni for good tomorrow, for dinner. Sigh...I'm SO gonna miss having this friend around. After dinner, I suppose I'll have to settle my packing to leave for UIA (International Islamic University in Gombak) for the debate training, and from there, I'll head over to UKM (National University Malaysia in Bangi).

I guess I won't go online from then! By the time I go online again, I'll have berlambak banyak stories to tell d...with YLDP and all the training to shout about :) Sigh...life...this CRaZeeE life that I'm leading...

Photos of Sunrise Watch at TC

We didn't manage to catch the sight of the sunrise on 'memory' (camera). But here are some of the pics taken during our 'trip' to Teluk Cempedak for the sunrise watch, which i woke up at 5.40am just to get ready :)

This was taken at the initial site of the sunrise watch. We had to hike up to this huge rock (and had our breakfast there as well! )

At the other side of the beach, where we had to hike REALLY high to get to the peak. Awesome view.

This 2 photos show almost the entire stretch of the beach & how high we were from land!

Grumbles...

I don't understand why the posts can allign properly when there are photos posted up. Bah. I'm losing my patience!

My laptop is still dead. Poor fella died last Wednesday. Thus, I am now on my room mate's laptop. Sigh. The week has been slightly eeky, yet there was some bits & pieces of fun too lar. My weekend was something different :)

Let's talk about the weekend, since that's the most happening time for the entire week (besides the story of the laptop dying). I spent practically the whole of Friday & Saturday morning out. KHup was down in Kuantan (he was on his way to KL & he decided to stop over in Kuantan for a night before heading off to KL). We spent the late morn of Friday in town, just bumming around, as there weren't any movies that we could watch at that time. My silly uni wanted me to get back by 4.30pm for a Hari Raya celebration, as the Minister of Higher Education will be around, & as an MPP member, I have to show my face at the event. Thus, KHup and I didn't have a nice schedule to work with (thanks to the Hari Raya thingy).

We ended up shopping at Megamall and having lunch at Sherwood, a small, cosy restaurant, which all along I thought was a hair salon. The food there was GOOD, although the price was slightly high for Kuantan standard. Gahaha. Oh, believe it or not, we also visited a konon-nya art gallery in Kuantan. Teehee....

Anyways, the Hari Raya thingy wasn't that fun la. After having such a good meal at Sherwood, I felt a lil sick looking at more food, 2 hours later. Sigh. I managed to get a couple of photos taken with the minister and the rector of my uni. Kekeke.

After the event, I went back to the room and tried to sleep, but failed. So, by the time I can actually sleep, it was time to CG already & KHup arrived. So, yeah, no time to sleep & I was kinda pooped out. But I have to say that CG was real nice. There was just a great number of students for this recent CG meeting. Really fun, although I was still not feeling too good. :)

I went back to Abi's house late at night anf quickly got to bed. The next day was an even more exciting day!

Saturday, 19 November 2005

I woke up VERY early in the morning (yes, on a Saturday!) as both KHup & I planned to get to TC to catch the sunrise at 6.30 am. Walau-wey...a totally mad thing to do. We arrived at TC around 6.40 am, and walked over to Bay 2. We stopped at a hut, but actually ended up hiking a lil to get onto the rocks, high aobve the sea. Gah. Acrophobia!

The view was great! We had 'breakfast' on the rocks (hot tea and bread) and sat there, just chit- chatting until the sun showed up. Not too bad a sight, although the sunrise at Cherating was nicer :)

It started to drizzle a lil, so we hiked our way down ( I was wearing slippers!!!) and went towards Bay 1, & walked along the shore, stopped a while and watched some uncles & aunty fishing ( they really caught some fishes le!), then headed off to yet another rocky side for a climb. There's just this thing about climbing rocks that day. This time, our destination was almost a 3-4 storey high formation of rocks. Bummer man. My slipper!

The view at the top was of course gorgeous. We sat there for a great deal of time before departing for home. Gosh, I never expected anything like that. Climbing up rocks with slippers!!!, having breakfast high above the sea, and just stoning the morning away. I'm a total slacker! (I have a paper today and another paper on Wed...and I still went off to have fun...bo-jai-xi) I actually expected the sunrise watch to be one where we would sit on the sandy beach and just have a mini picnic sorta thing, then get back home. Wow...a refreshing experience, this was :)

So, that was the 'exciting' weekend of mine. I'll leave the minor details out la. There's too much to type if I were to type out everything in detail. I'll post up the photos when I have more time.

Cousin Moses' wedding in S'pore

Outside the Kampung Kapor Methodist Church where the wedding was held.

Wedding dinner at The Regent Hotel. With my designer cousin, Kris. He was the one who designed my gown.

With nephew, Joel. He's mixed Chinese-Japanese. VERY cute.

Finally back

Back in Kuantan at last! After an 'exciting' weekend, I needed something more routine. Pah. Can't believe that Miss Wong is saying this huh? I dislike routines, but not this time; I needed the mundane lifestyle for a break from all the energy-consuming events.

The past weekend has been too 'exciting'. To give a clearer scenario of the event that took place, last Saturday was actually my cousin's wedding day. I left for Singapore on Thursday and got back only on Monday (in the wee hours of the morning). I stayed with my uncle Mike (which I still don't know if that was the best idea) and practically wore myself out throughout that 4 days.

Day 1, Thursday- 10 Nov 2005
I left on the KKKL bus from Puduraya terminal at 8.45 a.m. to Singapore. That silly bus was supposed to leave at 8 a.m! I nearly died of carbon-monoxide poisoning! Cis. There were only 6 people in the bus to Singapore, including the driver. (!!!) The journey was OK, considering I can still get some sleep. 2 passengers left the bus upon arriving at Batu Pahat, while another left slightly further along the way. The second last passenger (this includes me) got down at the Larkin station, leaving yours truly to travel alone with the bus driver into Singapore. Gosh. Scary.

I was pretty blur throughout the ride into S'pore. I didn't know what I had to do and where I had to wait. Pah. It's certainly not my first time going into S'pore alone, but it is indeed my first time getting DIRECTLY into S'pore by bus; I will usually go from JB and take the Causeway link into S'pore. Well, well, Miss Wong kind panicked along the way. I got a lil confused while I was at the JB imigration & at Woodlands Checkpoint...I didn't know where my bus went after I got out of the counters!!! Argh...bummer. There was a slight jam before the 'bus area', so the bus took some time to get there. I was very relieved when I saw the driver...ergh.

Thus began my journey into S'pore. There was yet another jam in S'pore due to an accident and we had to take a detour. Bah. The driver even asked me, "Moi, u tau jalan dari sini tak?" Good grief, I mana tau??! He asked me if I'm Singaporean and I told him I'm not. Eek. He had no clue where he's heading to, and I am no better. We just followed the cars in front of us and weaved our way through the industrial area until we got to the main road again. Sheesh...konon-nya bus driver for KL-S'pore.

I got down at Kovan later than I was expected to arrive. I quickly got onto the city bus towards uncle Mike's, looking forward to get some proper rest. Ah well, I couldn't rest at all. Upon arriving at the house, Moses kor-kor greeted me and told me to hurry up as we had to leave for the hotel...a lot of people were waiting for them. Sheesh. There goes the rest. I took my luggage into the room, washed my face, and hurried out.

We got to Hyatt, where they got a room, sat down a while, chat a bit with my uncle, aunt...etc, then headed out to Millenium Walk with Moses and Poi Lai. I just sat around while they tried out their new specs, and after that, they told me to go my way. Bummer! They should have told me WAY earlier, then I can go walking around town or something, rather than sitting around and being the 'lamp post'.

Anyways, I went around Bras Basah alone, trying very hard to find my way around as I don't really have a map. *sigh* I hate feeling lost. It was drizzling, but I can't be bothered, 'cause I felt so lost anyways. I had to ask quite a number of people along the way for directions...

I met up with Gloria around 6+ p.m. at the Orchard mrt station, and boy, was I relieved to be 'found'. It was great catching up with her and having dinner with her at the Crystal Jade La Mian and Siao Long Pao Restaurant at Wisma Atria. I couldn't spend too long a time with her as she was tired after a day's work. We parted at 9 p.m. after walking around Takashimaya and Orchard Road. After sending her off, I went around alone, looking at the lights and the Christmas decorations, which were up...most of the shopping complexes had their deco up already.

I got tired and lost again after an hour, so I spent some time searching for the Somerset mrt station to get back home. I arrived home around 11+ p.m, feeling a lil bad to keep my uncle and aunt waiting for me to get back, and feeling very tired as well (my legs felt wobbly). My cousin wasn't too pleased with me getting home so late, I reckon. *sigh* Thus ended the first day of my S'pore trip.

What I did during my ‘study break’
  • Spent time with my parents and the family. Uncle Mike, Aunty Janet and Moses kor-kor just arrived in PJ two days back.
  • Met up with my dear Theng, who is all alone when I am in Kuantan, for a movie, as WS & Ling are off at work and uni.
  • Met up with Sher Peng, whom I haven’t met for a terribly LONG time. We had a good time together and caught up with each other as much as possible within the time limit that I had.
  • Met up with Adrian, yet another friend whom I haven’t sat down for a chat with for a LONG time.
  • Attended a ‘Paradise’ concert at Glad Tidings with WS and Theng last Sunday.
Studied a little on Calculus :P
  • Spent ONE night completing a birthday gift for Kin Hup… didn’t sleep for the entire night! I got to bed only around 5.45 am, when my dad woke up already…eekk..
  • Spent approximately 6 hours on the handphone just chatting with Len and Kin Hup since I came back to PJ.

What I was suppose to do during my study break

  • Revise my Calculus
  • Go through my Data Communications and Networking notes
  • Glance through my Systems Analysis and Design notes
  • Relax and meet up with some friends

Hmm…so did I meet any of my ‘targets’ this break? Not really huh? Considering I spent a bulk of my break not studying. Die-lar, this semester’s results will be a total disaster if I don’t catch up with the work that I have to do. *sigh* I’m having too much fun in life. Bah.

The Lost Sheep

Written on 5 November 2005 at 3.17 pm

No more Abraham-Jonah complex; no more Moses complex. It’s the Lost Sheep complex ‘now’. Baa. Well, at least that was the last ‘complex’ that I was stuck in. As for now, I am nearly out of that situation.

The Lost Sheep situation, taken from Luke 15: 1-7, hit me like the waves of the recent tsunami. All along, I’ve been ‘lost’, wandering on my own, without God. Yeah, I do my QT as usual, but nothing seemed to be ‘real’ in my life. Things have been dry, dull, and practically meaningless. It’s not that I don’t want to run back to the Lord, but… “The Spirit is willing, the body is weak.” *sigh*

That passage hit me SO hard that I made the decision to run back no matter how tough it will be. Thank the Lord that I am now in the Light and not groping in the dark anymore. Sometimes I feel that being back home isn’t all that good. I will somehow slack when I am in my comfort zone…or is Kuantan my comfort zone now? I seriously had several attacks of ‘I wanna go back to Kuantan’. Gosh…I can’t believe myself when I had those thoughts knocking at my mind. At least, I know that when I am back at uni, I will make sure I pray, do my QT and commit the day to the Lord before heading off to class. Ah. Such is life- when you are placed at home, you wanna get out, but when you’re out there, you wanna go home. Total bummer.

In any case, I am glad that I am ‘found’ by my Shepherd and am back at His side now :)

Still Lacking in Sleep

Written on 28 October 2005, 5.40 p.m

How can anyone on a break be lacking of sleep?? Pretty impossible huh? But this is SO true lor…

I reckon I have bad time management during this break. I slept VERY late on Wednesday, 26 October 2005. The reason: completing the birthday gift for Kin Hup. Ahaha…it was a totally crazy thing to do man. Kenneth’s birthday gift was already a mad thing to do (I spent DAYS to complete it), what more another similar thing for Kin Hup. Walau-wey…

My ideas are running out. Thus, the similarity in the birthday gift. I ended up making a ‘movie’ for Kin Hup, as I did for Kenneth. I started piecing up the gift after the phone call with him cos I heard him mentioning his birthday in the conversation. I knew it all along, but I just wasn’t sure of the exact date…was procrastinating to complete the gift asap. I finished the gift around 5.30 a.m!! Yeah man…5.30 on a Thursday morning! I was quite afraid as my dad wakes up at that time, so I was rushing to complete it before he wakes up to find me still awake!

Haha…I failed to complete it before my dad woke up :( I was truly relieved when I finally completed the gift. I moved around the house like a mad woman to look for wrapping paper, a proper box and some brown paper, causing a whole commotion early in the morning. I couldn’t get the brown paper, so I ended up cutting an envelop as the ‘brown paper’. *sigh* After completing everything, it was MY turn to sleep! Yups. When everyone woke up to go to work and school, I went to sleep…ahaha.

I woke up again around 10 a.m to get to the post office. I was really blur on how to send the parcel…didn’t really know the procedures although it isn’t the first time I am sending a parcel. It’s been quite some time since I sent anything, that’s all. *shrugs* I expected the parcel to get to his house late anyways, so I wasn’t putting too much hope in Pos Malaysia…what more with the Deepavali and the Raya holidays up next week.

Kudos to Pos Malaysia!

I received a sms just now, around 3.30 p.m from Kin Hup, telling me that he received the parcel already. WOW. I’m totally impressed with Pos Malaysia! In just ONE day, the parcel arrived! It’s earlier than I’ve expected! Hmm…the efficiency of Pos Malaysia…interesting. Perhaps it’s the fact that the Raya hols are approaching that they are rushing to send everything out as soon as they could. Or perhaps it’s the fact that the place is Kelantan, where most Malays are…or maybe they thought that the parcel contained Raya cookies for some relatives? Haha...no matter what the reasons may be, I am just thankful that the gift arrived in time :)

Now, the next thing to do is to send off Kenneth’s birthday gift, which is TERRIBLY overdued. Bummer.

'Break'

Written on the 24th of Oct 2005 at 9.06 pm

Hmm…this ‘break’ has been pretty satisfying. Well, so far it is :) I’ve been able to get adequate sleep, if not more than I ever need for a day, and I’m able to catch up with people whom I haven’t met and chat with for a long time. Ah…life is good.

I’ve been keeping in touch with the east coast although I am in the west now, through Kin Hup and the Tan family. Strange, but true, I miss Kuantan! Ahaha…amazing, isn’t it? I bet my roommate do not even have a tinge of ‘miss Kuantan’ feeling in her. She’ll do ANYTHING to get out of Kuantan. :)

This week is fully booked! I spent today with my mum & sitting at home doodling on the comp. I’m not gonna touch my books yet, so I thought I’ll come up with another ‘movie’/ multimedia work as a gift for a friend’s birthday. As for tomorrow, I’ll go over to TRAC to do the YLDP name tags, then go for lunch with Wai Yin, whom I haven’t chat with for a long, long time now. I can’t wait to meet Sher Peng this week as well! I haven’t seen her since erm…2003? Gosh…that’s like 2 years ago! There’ll be LOADS of juicy stories to share! Yays! Ah, the cinema is yet another place I want to visit while I am back here. The ‘Corpse Bride’ will be out by this Thursday, and I will watch it with Theng, this Saturday :) Can’t wait!

*sigh* Before I can really soak into the wonderful holiday atmosphere, the hols will be over! Next week will be the Deepavali & Hari Raya week, and the week after that will be my last week in PJ! ARGH. I’ll have to get over to Singapore for Moses’ (cousin brother) wedding before heading straight to Kuantan again for my finals. Sheesh…too short a break :( I won’t have the time to spare to meet Mabel too, when she gets back from Aussie. I’ll be busy with my finals and he Royals Debate. Bah.

You call this a break? Pah
